PRODUCTION MODULE

The Production Module features advanced functionalities for the processing of Technical BOMs or “CAD BOMs,” conventionally identified as the BOM versions exported from the PDM to the corporate ERP system.

The Production software module requires the Documenta Premium Process environment as a functional prerequisite. It provides functionalities for processing the standard Technical BOM, with the ultimate goal of creating the actual Restructured Production BOM, fully documented with all information related to the activities performed and the users involved in the elaboration process.

The restructuring of the Technical BOM may involve the creation or revision of codes specifically grouped for use in warehouse management, for the creation of spare parts kits, or simply to obtain the set of derived codes already present in the Technical BOM but typically not managed in the warehouse.

The operational workflow includes communication tools between departments, allowing users to insert notes on potential modifications, on different article groupings, or on individual BOM lines. This way, the differences between various BOM revisions are graphically highlighted and documented.

SERIAL NUMBER MANAGEMENT

The Production software module includes specific functionalities for the management of serial numbers to be assigned to devices or machinery, useful both during the production phase and the after-sales phase.

These functionalities also enable the management of the customer/BOM-code/serial number association and the correct identification of the relevant machine/plant.

WHY USE THE DOCUMENTA PRODUCTION MODULE AS SOFTWARE FOR MANAGING PRODUCTION BOMS AND SERIAL NUMBERS?

The Production software module, integrated into the functional context of Documenta, is a powerful tool for managing Production BOMs and the serial numbers of industrial machines and devices, leading to a drastic reduction of time compared to traditional working methods.

Since the Production software module is integrated into the functional context of Documenta, it enhances its capabilities concerning production BOM management and allows for a single archive of data and documents that is easily accessible to Documenta users with the appropriate interaction permissions.
